Kelowna General Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Infection Control. Ideal candidates possess recent experience in acute or long-term care and have knowledge in outbreak management, point-of-care assessments, and established infection control protocols. This full-time relief position is set until November 22, 2027, or until the return of the current practitioner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement infection control initiatives across multiple settings
• Monitor and evaluate adherence to infection control standards
• Educate staff, visitors, and volunteers on best practices
• Conduct risk assessments and outbreak management strategies
• Collaborate with the IPAC Manager on infection control measures
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with recent acute/long-term care experience
• Completed or enrolled in IPAC Canada-endorsed course
• Proficiency in epidemiology, microbiology, and infectious disease
• Strong mentorship and educational skills
• Commitment to client-centered care and quality improvement
