Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the Area Manager of Health & Safety, the ideal candidate will have a strong WorkSafeBC background in heavy manufacturing, building materials and/or construction. The person selected will have an opportunity to make an impact on the business every day on the job. This position can be based in Kelowna, Vancouver, Sunshine Coast or Vancouver Island and requires travel throughout those markets.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Implement and support all Safety and Health programs including the Heidelberg Materials Safety/Health Management SystemProvides ongoing safety and health support and guidance to our concrete, aggregates, and pipe production operations employeesContinuous interpretation and compliance planning for current and emerging safety regulatory requirements at all levels affecting the assigned facilities including Federal, Provincial, and localMonitor and proactively report facility Safety and Health performanceEnsure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring complianceProactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company’s safety and health performanceWho we are looking for:
Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and SafetyA minimum of 10 years of relevant hands-on safety experienceHolds or is pursuing a CRSP designationExperience and competence in developing and implementing safety programsStrong management, interpersonal, and influencing skills at all levels from senior operations to plant level employeesStrong claims management experienceProven coaching and teaching abilitiesAbility to form, facilitate, and maintain internal and cross functional teamsStrong Microsoft Office skillsWork Environment:
The position will travel up to 50% and support our operations across British Columbia.What we have to offer:
