Take on a key role as a Detention Guard with Commissionaires BC at the RCMP detachment in Grand Forks. This casual on-call position focuses on ensuring the safety of detainees in custody.
Joining this team means working various shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights. You will report directly to the responsible RCMP member and may perform tasks such as monitoring prisoner activities, aiding in searches, and maintaining cell cleanliness. A prerequisite for this job includes residing within a 60-minute drive of the detachment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Observe detainees frequently with CCTV monitoring
• Assist in organizing meals and recording activities
• Maintain cleanliness and security of detention cells
• Dispense medication and monitor fire safety
• Conduct searches of cells as needed
Requirements:
• At least 19 years of age
• Valid First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Ability to achieve RCMP Reliability Clearance
• Strong English language skills
• Eagerness to complete detention guard training
