Position: Retail Security Guard (Temporary Position)

Ready to suit up as a Retail Security Guard

As a Retail Security Guard, you will be the face of safety and customer service within the store. By maintaining a professional presence, building positive interactions with customers, and proactively addressing security concerns, you will help create a welcoming environment while supporting loss prevention efforts. Success in this role requires strong observation skills, confidence in de-escalating situations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Temporary opportunity with the following schedule:
Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Responsibilities for Retail Security Guard

Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and promote a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Observe customer activity and identify potential loss prevention concerns while providing excellent customer service.

Use strong communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and challenging situations professionally.

Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies, documenting actions taken as required.

Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor and surrounding areas to identify safety and security risks.

Work closely with store management and law enforcement when required to support investigations and incident response.

Qualifications for Retail Security Guard

Be authorized to work in Canada

Hold a valid BC security license

Hold a valid AST certificate - Required

First aid certification - an asset

Strong report writing and technology skills

Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus

Physically able to stand and patrol for extended periods

Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness

Exceptional customer service skills
