Compensation Range $7,158.42 - $10,292.25 CAD Monthly The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

Security Communications Coordinators (SCCs) play a vital role in maintaining oversight of alarm systems, access control, and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) operations in support of campus security.

They act as liaisons between Campus Security, other university departments, and emergency services. SCCs respond to inquiries efficiently and professionally, supporting a respectful and collaborative working environment. Their efforts help ensure the ongoing safety and security of UBC Okanagan faculty, staff, students, visitors, and university property.

Reports directly to the Manager, Communications and Patrol, UBC Okanagan Campus Security.

• Coordinates communication related to all security activities.
• Operates and controls the 24/7 communications network, managing day-to-day issues involving security, parking, facilities management, Safe Walk, Blue Phones, residences, and all campus buildings and properties.
• Acts as liaison with local emergency services (RCMP, Ambulance, Fire Department) and University departments, contacting appropriate UBC authorities and administrators in the event of an emergency.
• Monitors, assesses, and analyzes multiple computer databases to obtain and relay information to the appropriate departments, authorities, and individuals.
• Conducts regular system integrity checks according to established protocols and takes appropriate action based on results.
• Supervises and oversees contract security personnel, ensuring appropriate responses and assistance are provided to the campus community as needed.
