Position: Support Worker for Women at SOWINS
Location: Penticton

Support women facing abuse as a Women's Support Worker s casual position allows you to make a direct impact in a safe, supportive environment.

As part of SOWINS, you will play a crucial role in assisting women and children in crisis. Your duties will include assessing risks and needs, implementing intervention plans, and providing support for accessing housing and services. Working within an intersectional feminist framework, your efforts will also contribute to broader community education efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address client needs and risks to improve safety

• Develop issue-specific intervention plans

• Conduct crisis intervention and emotional support

• Guide clients in accessing necessary services

• Engage with community to promote awareness

Requirements:

• Diploma in social or human services

• Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR

• Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training

• Class 5 driver’s license with good standing

• Gender-diverse, trans, and cis women applicants welcome
