Lead youth employment programs at YMCA of Southern Interior BC. Inspire and assist young adults in overcoming employment challenges and achieving their career aspirations.
In this role as an Employment Facilitator, you will provide essential coaching to vulnerable youth, helping them develop skills and connect with community resources. Your efforts will focus on creating inclusive action plans and promoting essential employment skills through workshops and discussions tailored for effective personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support youth in identifying barriers to employment
• Organize and facilitate workshops on key employment skills
• Implement participant action plans with achievable goals
• Assess and monitor participants’ progress throughout placements
• Advocate for community service and volunteerism initiatives
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma
• At least 2 years’ experience working with youth
• Preferred certifications in crisis intervention and motivational interviewing
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle access
• Strong knowledge of strength-based and trauma-informed practices
