Location:
Penticton, BC Salary: $26–$27 per hour
Hours:
Temporary Full Time, 35 hours per week. Could lead to Permanent.
Worker will be available to provide outreach services to adults that are unhoused or at risk of being unhoused within the Penticton area, Monday – Friday.
Job requires the following:
- Outreach services to engage people who are experiencing Homelessness or At Risk of Homelessness.
- Assessing Client’s needs.
- Assisting with personal goals.
- Connecting individuals and families with Housing and appropriate services.
- A team approach to Outreach Services.
- Participate in client referral and follow-up.
- Transportation for clients as needed to access services.
- Advocate and/or mediate on behalf of clients.
- Support clients meeting basic needs.
- Relevant post-secondary education; BSW or other related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years current experience working with multiple barrier clients.
- Previous Case Management experience an asset.
- First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention;
Trauma Informed training. - Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email and HIFIS.
- Valid class 5 Driver’s License; with own reliable vehicle, as driving is a job requirement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and have experience working in team environment.
- Ability to work with high-risk clientele.
- Knowledge of the Aboriginal Culture; and First Nation.
- Clean criminal record.
- Proof of first two COVID vaccinations is required.
