Join the Canucks Autism Network as a part-time Employment Support Worker, focusing on skills development for Autistic youth in the Okanagan region. This casual role offers a flexible schedule while making an impact.

In the role of Employment Support Worker, you will guide Autistic participants enrolled in the CAN-STEP program during their work experience placements. You’ll adapt duties to suit individual needs, mentor them in workplace culture, and help them transition to independent work. Your efforts will directly contribute to fostering acceptance and skills for Autistic individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly support participants in their job placements

• Implement tailored strategies to aid in job mastery

• Assist participants in navigating workplace culture

• Provide feedback and report participant progress

• Collaborate with the Work Experience Coordinator for support

Requirements:

• Experience working with youth with disabilities

• Relevant education or knowledge in social services helpful

• Background in supporting Autistic individuals preferred

• Valid BC Driver’s license and vehicle access preferred

• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks required
