Position: SOWINS PEACE Counsellor Role
Location: Penticton

Join SOWINS as a PEACE Counsellor, focusing on children affected by abuse. Utilize trauma-informed practices to provide critical support and workshops in the South Okanagan.

As a temporary Full-Time PEACE Counsellor at SOWINS, you will support children who've witnessed violence. This role emphasizes a client-centered approach, encouraging personal growth through psycho-educational programming. You will also deliver group workshops tailored to improve emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advocate for and support child victims of violence

• Design and facilitate group workshops for youth

• Offer emotional support to parents and caregivers

• Uphold trauma-informed and client-centered counselling principles

• Collaborate with the counselling team on service delivery

Requirements:

• Degree in social services, counselling, or psychology

• Recent two years' experience in child counselling

• First Aid & CPR Level C Certification

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training

• Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
