Transit Planning Coordinator
The Transit Planning Coordinator plans, coordinates, oversees and supports transit service operations and initiatives to improve the service and expand the transit system, utilization and integration with the City and regions transportation system and plans.

Responsibilities

Develop and support strategies and implement plans and initiatives for continuous improvement of transit customer service.

Monitor service delivery and liaise with BC Transit and the Operator on issues related to transit service delivery, customer service, traffic management, safety and security, and adherence to operating policy and procedures.

Utilize technological tools such as bus monitoring systems (AVL, APC) to maximize service quality.

Provide and coordinate input into route operational design, planning, asset management and capital plans and projects.

Manage customer service complaints and feedback with BC Transit and the operator.

Lead and provide input in the development and delivery of marketing plans, strategies, and tactics.

Monitor and respond to safety and security contracts, incidents and protocols.

Provide input, research and support to other departments and external stakeholders on transit and integration of the transit system with the broader community transportation system.

Advise and coordinate transit activities related to City and region Active Transportation, Traffic Demand Management (TDM) and Air Quality plans, actions and initiatives.

Oversee and may supervise contractors and city staff on transit operations.

Manage and coordinate capital assets programs and system for maintenance, repair and installation of new shelters, benches and other transit amenities.

Coordinate Transportation Network companies, shared mobility programs and vanpooling.

Coordinate multi-modal integration between transit and other transportation modes.
