Drive students safely as a Relief School Bus Driver with School District No. 53, using a Class 2 licence and air endorsement. Follow schedules and safety requirements.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the bus driver provides student transportation under supervision. The work requires passenger supervision, emergency response, safety inspections, communication, and knowledge of applicable regulations. Relief drivers support school transportation while following district policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport students safely according to established schedules
Supervise passengers and enforce bus safety rules
Assist during emergencies and administer basic first aid
Complete regulated safety inspections and required logs
Report deficiencies and malfunctions to the mechanic
Requirements:
Class 2 British Columbia driver’s licence with air endorsement
One year recent bus passenger transportation experience
Safe driving record and required driver abstract
Understanding of the Motor Vehicle Act and National Safety Code
Clear criminal record check before employment
