Personal Assistants

Overview

A friendly and reliable team of Personal Assistants are required to support a client living in Kelso with daily routines and personal care. The role involves four short visits per day
, helping the client remain comfortable, independent and well supported at home.

• Morning visit (approx. 9 am, 30 mins):
  Provide personal care as required, support with dressing, prepare breakfast and a hot drink, and prompt medication.
• Lunchtime visit (approx. 12 pm, 30 mins):
  Provide personal care as required, assist with dressing if needed, prepare lunch and a hot drink, and prompt medication.
• Tea-time visit (approx. 5:30 pm, 30 mins):
  Provide personal care as required, assist with dressing if needed, prepare a hot meal and drink, and prompt medication.
• Evening visit (approx. 8 pm, 30 mins):
  Provide personal care as required, assist with dressing for night-time, offer a light snack, and prompt medication.

• Kind, patient and respectful, with a focus on dignity and independence
• Reliable and trustworthy, able to work without direct supervision
• Good communicator and attentive to detail

• Experience in personal care or support work is helpful but not essential—training can be provided
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and light meal preparation

• Hours: 14 hours per week, delivered as four 30-minute visits each day
• Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour
• Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
• Probationary Period: 3 months
• Statutory employment rights apply, including holiday pay as stated above
• Appointment is subject to appropriate background checks (e.g. PVG / Disclosure Scotland)
