Job Description
Peace Health is seeking an MRI Technologist for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. Salary range $45.14 – $67.70. Hiring rate depends on education, training, work experience, collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job SummaryResponsible for performing all routine and specialized MRI procedures by integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.
Details of the position- Prepare, supply and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
- Organize daily work schedule and perform related clerical duties as required.
- Integrate previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam.
- Perform the most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
- Provide patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.
- Demonstrate ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise, making decisions to appropriately resolve problems. Recognize and ensure additional study and examination techniques are applied when abnormalities are present.
- Operate MRI scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction and documentation of images, and perform quality control measures to ensure optimal quality images.
- Apply the ACR Guidance Document for Safe MR Practices to ensure patient, visitor, and caregiver safety.
- Perform other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience and license/certification/registration.

Required:
Radiologic Technology or equivalent education and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by State for clinical practice. - Minimum of 1 year Preferred:
Previous experience. - Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development, and life stages to meet each patient’s need. - Required:
Demonstrated venipuncture competency. - Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices, procedures, physiology, and human cross‑sectional anatomy. - Required:
Demonstrated competency in computer‑based programs as they relate to MR applications. - Required:
PACS/RIS knowledge. - Preferred:
Image Cast/Care Cast experience. - Required:
Upon Hire ARRT – Radiography. - Required:
Upon Hire ARRT – Magnetic Resonance Imaging. - Required:
Upon Hire ARRT – Sonography. - Required:
Upon Hire Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. - Required:
Upon Hire American Registry of MRI Technologists Certification. - Required:
Within 1‑1½ years ARRT – Magnetic Resonance Imaging. - Required:
Upon Hire Basic Life Support. - May be required:
Licensure/Certification/Registration to practice in trained modality as required by the State.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and display flexibility in a fast‑paced and changing work environment (Required).
- Ability to work with basic office equipment such as telephones, copier, facsimiles, computers, etc. (Required).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills (Required).
