The Role Of a Guest Advocate Can Provide You With The Skills And Experience Of:

• Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
• Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns
• Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
• Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are the same. A typical day will likely include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
• Make guests aware of current promos, store activities and events
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve guest experience
• Thank guests and let them know you’re happy they chose to shop at Target
• Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards and company best practices
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
• Understand and explain Target App features, including Wallet
• Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering; direct guests to enroll, activate and use these features
• Assist with returns following store policies and escalate to Leaders as needed
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and assist with stocking during store hours
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards
• Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-up orders, DU returns, and ensure compliance with applicable laws
• All other duties based on business needs

• Ability to operate handheld scanners and other equipment as directed

• Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

Basic requirements and working expectations

• Accurate handling of checkout operations, transactions, and support for cash office as needed
• Scan, handle and move merchandise safely; lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally with or without assistance
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties
