Overview

At Pursuit, we create unforgettable experiences for guests visiting iconic destinations. This remote, boat‑in position is located in Kenai Fjords National Park. As the Fox Island Cook, you will prepare food for the Day Lodge or Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge and support employee meals while ensuring consistency, safety, and hospitality standards.

• Prepare and cook food efficiently, maintaining a profitable food service.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and team members.
• Make sound judgments, anticipate issues, and create opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Meet guests’ special dietary needs.
• Prepare, cook, and clean after all meals.
• Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation facilities, adhering strictly to health regulations.
• Perform opening/closing duties and other assigned tasks.
• Observe proper food preparation methods, portion sizing, and garnishing to match prescribed standards.
• Arrive on time, dressed in a clean uniform and neat appearance.
• Participate in emergency response activities such as firefighting and emergency medical support within training limits.

• Valid Alaska Food Handler’s Certification;
  Serv Safe Manager certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation standards.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Culinary School graduate or equivalent work experience as a cook in food service operations.
• Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier objects occasionally.

The starting wage for this role is $22.00 per hour.
