Position: Community Care Licensing Specialist 1 - Kenai (PCN 063398)

What You Will Be Doing

The Community Care Licensing Specialist 1 is a skilled, adventurous, and motivated individual who will recruit, support, assess, investigate, and license individuals across Alaska to provide critically important foster care for children. Responsibilities include actively recruiting and supporting resource families to establish positive and nurturing home environments for children’s healthy development. The candidate will be required to travel to rural communities and/or work under a remote supervision model with on‑site co‑workers and support administration available.

Working

Environment You Can Expect

Position is in the Kenai Field Office and involves office and field work, including licensing of foster homes on the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak Island, and surrounding rural communities. Field work may require personal vehicle use with mileage reimbursement and occasional travel across the state on small planes, boats, ATVs, or snow machines. Work may occur in harsh conditions with limited cellular service.

    • Requires a valid Alaska Driver’s License and Real .
    • Requires local travel within 50 miles and occasional travel within the state.
    • Requires participation in the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), including background investigation and fingerprinting.
    • A child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 or 13 AAC 68.315.
    • May require attendance at multiple training courses in Anchorage.
