MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (MECHANICAL BIAS) – LEN SHIFT

Job Title – Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location – Kendal, Cumbria
Salary – £40,385 – £46,385 (includes shift premium up to £4,385, DOE)
Shift – LEN (Earlies / Lates / Nights), 42 hours per week

Earlies: 06:00–13:30 (Mon–Fri)
Lates: 13:15–21:15 (Mon–Thu) & 13:15–18:45 (Fri)
Nights: 21:00–06:30 (Mon/Tue) & 21:00–06:15 (Wed/Thu)

Job Role of the Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed has come to the forefront for a strong Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing site in Kendal. This is a brilliant chance for a mechanically biased engineer to work within a fast-paced, high standards, food manufacturing environment.

The company has recently seen significant investment (circa £40m site investment project including major upgrades such as spray dryer/boilers/evaporators), making it an excellent move for any engineer looking for a stable role with long-term progression.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will report into the Team Leader and Engineering Manager, working as part of the Secondary Mechanical Team (Packaging & Blending). You will be responsible for repairs, planned maintenance, installations, improvements and fault diagnostics across the site, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting production targets.

You will be working on machinery such as: filling/packaging equipment, powder handling, sealing & labelling machinery, robots, conveyors, barcode systems, X-ray machines, plus exposure to site utilities including steam systems, boilers and effluent plant.

Sector – Manufacturing

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years)
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Maintenance

Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer

Experience in food/dairy/FMCG manufacturing environments
Multi-skilled background (mechanical with some electrical fault finding)
Ex-Forces / Forces engineers encouraged to apply
Non-UK experience considered (no sponsorship available)
