Overview
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will support individuals with a wide variety of communication and swallowing needs, enabling people to maximise their independence, safety, and quality of life. You will work with patients who have complex and long‑term conditions, using evidence‑based interventions and a person‑centred approach to assessment, treatment and goal‑setting.
You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with nurses, therapists, GPs and care providers. Clinical work will take place in patients’ own homes, care homes and community clinics, allowing you to develop strong therapeutic relationships and deliver care in environments that matter most to the individuals you support.
This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while benefiting from regular supervision, peer support and ongoing professional development, contributing to service improvement and the continued development of community‑based speech and language therapy provision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment, treatment and goal‑setting for individuals with communication and swallowing needs.
- Promote collaborative working practices within the Speech and Language Therapy Team across Morecambe Bay.
- Work independently in patients’ homes, care homes and community clinics, while collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred care that supports patients’ independence and quality of life.
- Contribute to service improvement and ongoing professional development.

Important InformationShould the post be subject to Disclosure & Barring Service checking, a fee of £49.50 for Enhanced clearance, £21.50 for Standard clearance and an additional £4.90 administration fee will be applied to the successful candidate. This applies to roles Band 6 and above and Medical & Dental posts.
Newly appointed staff under the Agenda For Change contract will undergo a satisfactory 6‑month probationary period to become familiar with the role and working environment.
