Position Summary
An opportunity has become available to join the Kendal District Nurses as a registered nurse on a permanent basis. This is a supportive team that pride themselves on delivering a high standard of person centre care to the residents of Kendal and surrounding villages., The post holder will work as a registered Nurse within Community Services, accountable for providing evidence based, holistic nursing care of patients.
Responsibilities- You will be expected to support the Sister/Team Leader in leading the team supervising, directing staff and delegating workload according to skills of the staff within the team.
- The Kendal District Nurse team is a busy team comprising of both registered and clinical support workers. We regularly have students to support and develop.
- We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team player that shares the same passion and drive to care for people in their own homes to a high standard and wants to develop their knowledge in community care.
- The post is to be worked over a 7 day working week, with both full time and part time hours considered.
- The post requires a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, please ensure this is indicated on your application form.
We operate from three main hospitals:
Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
