The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Disposition Technician to join our Quality team at Kendal Nutricare. In this key role, you will be responsible for the routine dispositioning of products across all stages of internal and external production. You will monitor and respond to customer and vendor complaints, conduct detailed investigations, and drive continuous quality improvement through the implementation of effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all products released to market meet the highest regulatory, safety, and quality standards—in full compliance with company procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and all applicable infant formula and food legislation.
This is a full time role based at our headquarters in Kendal.
You will be required to work a rotating 2 week shift pattern.
Lates: 13:15-21:15 Monday to Thursday and 13:15-18:45 Friday.
Earlies: 06:00-13:30 Monday to Friday
Responsibilities Product Quality & Release- Review and approve batch records, in-process checks, and laboratory results for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Perform dispositioning of materials and products, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Production, Laboratories, and Supply Chain to ensure timely release of products.
- Maintain accurate and traceable documentation for all batch dispositions.
- Complying with safety and hygiene procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role
- Receive, log, investigate, and respond to all customer and vendor complaints within agreed timelines.
- Perform root cause analyses, coordinate testing or sampling when necessary, and document findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence and improve supplier quality performance.
- Track and trend complaints to identify recurring issues or emerging risks.
- Ensure that all activities comply with GMP, GFSI, BRCGS & Regulatory (UK/EU/US/CA) standards.
- Work closely with Production, Laboratories, R&D, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
- Liaise with external manufacturers and suppliers to maintain consistent quality expectations.
- Communicate quality performance, trends, and improvement actions to management and stakeholders.
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a quality role within the food manufacturing, pharmaceutical or medical devices industry.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality systems.
- Be self-motivated and a great team player.
- Be organised, efficient and methodical.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Be analytically minded and continuous improvement focused.
- Be quality focussed with a drive to ensure standards are upheld.
- Have excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft.
- Professional communication skills at all levels.
- Proven experience in a quality role within the infant formula or dairy manufacturing industry.
