As a Security Officer/Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, colleagues and contractors, creating a welcoming and professional first impression while helping keep the site safe and orderly. You will be expected to carry out the following duties:
- Reception and Access Control:
Welcome, help and direct everyone who visits the site, and sign visitors and contractors in and out in line with the Client's policy. - Visitor Management:
Issue passes, notify the relevant colleagues of arrivals, and keep accurate visitor records. - Escalation:
Notice anything unusual or concerning and escalated it promptly to site management or the relevant team. - Client Support:
Answer queries, handle phone calls and emails, and carry out general front-of-house administrative tasks. - Liaison:
Work with site management and, where applicable, the emergency services or local authorities. - Digital Reporting:
Use tablets or phones for daily activity planning and to log incidents and visitor information. - Incident Reporting:
Write clear, accurate and legible reports of any incidents or concerns to support the Client. - Policy Compliance:
Follow company policy on Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities, and comply with all procedures in the current company handbook.

Monday to Friday, 12:00 – 17:00 - Hourly Rate: £14.00
To be an effective Security Officer/Receptionist, you will need to be a confident communicator, able to give clear verbal and written accounts of events when needed. You will be welcoming, patient and professional with customers and visitors, and able to handle difficult situations calmly.
RequiredExperience and Qualifications
- No SIA licence is required for this role.
- Previous experience in a reception, customer service, retail or similar front-of-house role is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be given.
- Good communication, organisational and IT skills (comfortable using tablets and phones).
- Applicants must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work or back-to-school history.
