Job Summary
Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global leader in critical power solutions. We are looking for a Transport Logistics Lead located in Kendal to oversee transport operations for several UK facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Operational oversight: prioritize and manage day‑to‑day activities, ensuring safe and efficient handling, storage and timely dispatch and delivery of goods; address queries and exceptions promptly.
- Performance monitoring: track delivery times, transport costs, KPIs and implement improvements for efficient transport flows.
- Negotiation: oversee vendor negotiations to achieve optimal rates, monitor fuel costs and legislation to keep operations profitable.
- Freight cost & P&L management: prepare monthly, quarterly and annual freight cost and P+L reports.
- Coordination: liaise with transport teams, suppliers, vendors and internal departments such as Planning, Production, Project Management, Sales and Finance.
- Compliance & safety: ensure adherence to health & safety standards, legal regulations for import/export and company procedures.
- Ad hoc tasks: complete other tasks as necessary or directed by the Logistics Manager.
- Proven experience in a logistics or transport lead role.
- Strong road freight competency and experience with multiple modes of transport.
- Knowledge of imports/exports – customs formalities, trade compliance and incoterms.
- IT literacy: proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4
HANA). - Strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player across multiple activities.
- Problem‑solving skills: quickly resolve operational problems and delays.
- Creative mindset to propose innovative solutions and optimise processes.
- Ability to work well under pressure, flexible and responsive to changing plans and tight deadlines.
