Job Purpose

The Billing Specialist will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.

Job Duties
  • Processing accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verifying discrepancies and resolving clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitating payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Keeping up with collections by sending emails to customers who are behind with payments.
  • Matching labor tickets and invoices, verifying hours charged and approving invoices for payment.
  • Changing job status from OPEN to INVOICED in CT when the job is complete, ensuring all tickets are invoiced.
  • Ensuring all jobs have correct PO numbers before generating invoices.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • AA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (preferred but not required).
  • 2‑5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A keen eye for detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands‑on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear, both in person and by telephone. The job requires lifting and carrying up to 25 lb or less.
