Position OverviewDuring the full service oil change, the hood technician is responsible for performing all services in the engine compartment. The hood technician also directs activities in the bay area, ensuring that the service is thoroughly completed and recorded on the Work Order.
Responsibilities- Work safely, wear safety gear, keep work area clean and organized.
- Use Echo System / Echo services and vehicle information.
- Direct the vehicle into the bay.
- Place fender covers on the vehicle.
- Perform light checks and check/fill automatic transmission fluid (when applicable), as well as check the oil, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, coolant, and battery electrolyte.
- Remove and check emissions components: replace top-side oil filter (when applicable), air filter, cabin air filter, breather, and radiator cap. Deliver emissions components to center manager for customer presentation. When applicable, install emissions components.
- Perform visual inspection of belts, hoses, and other hood compartment components, and document any unusual conditions.
- Perform additional services as needed and complete the final safety and quality check.
- Record information on the Work Order.
In addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, cleaning center windows, lawn maintenance, litter removal, snow and ice clearing from the site, and cleaning restrooms. Crew members must attend crew meetings, run errands as required, and perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Job Qualifications- Ability and license to operate motor vehicles.
- Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools.
- Minimum 3 months of actual hood technician experience or supervised training required.
Materials Used: Automotive oils, fluids and lubricants, windshield washer fluid, battery electrolyte.
Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the shift.

Position requires good corrected vision and hearing, and frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.

Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
