Holly Vet Clinic is hiring an experienced full-time Veterinary Assistant in Kenmore, Washington, near Seattle.
Holly Vet Clinic is an independently owned small animal veterinary practice serving Kenmore and the greater Seattle area. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who can independently support veterinary appointments and is comfortable with anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, IDEXX in-house laboratory diagnostics, medication administration under veterinary direction, patient care and professional client communication.
Responsibilities:- Obtain patient histories
- Assist with veterinary appointments and vaccinations
- Communicate with pet owners
- Monitor patients under anesthesia
- Safely restrain canine and feline patients
- Place IV catheters
- Perform venipuncture
- Perform IDEXX in-house laboratory diagnostics
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Assist with nail trims and anal gland expressions
- Maintain accurate veterinary medical records
- Prepare patients and clinical areas for procedures
- Maintain clean and organized examination, treatment and surgical areas
- Previous veterinary assistant experience is required
- Candidates should have experience with anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, IV catheter placement and venipuncture and should be comfortable working in a busy small animal veterinary practice
- IDEXX laboratory experience is preferred
- Candidates must communicate professionally with clients, work effectively as part of a veterinary team and safely lift approximately 40 pounds
- A veterinary technician license is not required
Full-time position consisting of four 10-hour weekday shifts, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a one-hour lunch. Weekend availability is optional and not required.
Compensation:$22 to $26 per hour depending on experience.

Previous veterinary assistant experience required. Experience with anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, IV catheter placement and venipuncture required. IDEXX laboratory experience preferred. Strong client communication and organizational skills required. Must be able to safely lift approximately 40 pounds. Veterinary technician license not required.
