Federal Jack's is one of Maine’s first brew pubs and the birthplace of Shipyard Brewing Company’s award‑winning line of handcrafted ales. Located at 8 Western Ave, Kennebunk, the airy tavern offers upscale cuisine and water views with its signature house‑made ales. Our kitchen is dedicated to quality food, and we are looking for a Sauté Line Cook who can execute flawlessly in a high‑pressure environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a fast‑paced kitchen, be able to work well under pressure, and communicate effectively with the team to create the delicious food that we are known for. Visit  to learn more about Federal Jack's.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation while adhering to all health and safety guidelines
  • Prepare food items quickly and accurately according to order tickets, using proper portion control techniques
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of flavor profiles and ingredient pairings to create unique dishes
  • Consistently produce high‑quality food that meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Manage multiple orders simultaneously while keeping a calm and professional demeanor
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Stay up to date on new menu items and specials, as well as any changes to existing dishes
  • Proactively anticipate customer needs and make recommendations accordingly
  • Handle all food items with care and attention to avoid waste and minimize cost
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding food handling, storage, and sanitation
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team‑oriented environment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the head chef
Required

  • Proven experience as a sauté cook
  • Exceptional cooking skills with a focus on healthy, organic, and locally sourced ingredients
  • Strong knife skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and create new ones
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work as a team
