Summary of Position

Waste Pro is looking for a skilled Sales Representative to lead efforts in prospecting, business development, and forging strong partnerships with customers, commercial clients, and government officials. This role focuses on the short‑ and long‑term growth of Waste Pro revenues through targeted prospecting, business development, communication, and relationship building within a defined territory.

Through developed partnerships with customers, commercial clients, franchisees, business leaders, government officials, and key strategic partners, new contracts will be acquired or existing contracts extended for the collection, processing, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and recyclables. The Sales Representative will use consultative and strategic selling skills to understand economic and buying influences and work with the Sales Manager and other internal business partners (e.g., Division Managers) to meet client expectations and close deals.

The position also supports prospecting efforts for potential municipal clients.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop maximum potential sales volume and profitability within the defined territory.
  • Participate in partnerships with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers in developing short‑ and long‑term strategic market and sales planning.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.
  • Clearly match Waste Pro services with customers’ needs and provide necessary sales support.
  • Build a strong customer base in the regional geographic area by calling on prospective customers by phone or in‑person visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.
  • Drive acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by developing and maintaining critical relationships with customers and influencing decision‑makers.
  • Know the competition and use industry/company knowledge to prepare winning proposals.
  • Collaborate with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management to develop bid and RFP submissions and ensure proposals meet all specification requirements.
  • Interface with Waste Pro executives, managers, associates, and customers to target opportunities and aggressively pursue leads.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager(s) to close contracts through aggressive negotiation, competitive pricing, and adherence to the sales strategy.
  • Periodically initiate billing and contract audits with finance and regional management to ensure proper pricing and invoicing.
  • Resolve complaints and issues as needed to support the customer and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in community events and activities to promote Waste Pro’s distinguishable difference.
  • Keep management apprised of sales activities that may impact the Division, Region, and Company.
  • Use available technology to monitor, track, and report sales activity, and forecast revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with Corporate Sales, Marketing, and Regional Specialists on opportunities for press coverage, collateral, and sponsorship recommendations.
  • Research and stay current regarding competitor services and pricing.
  • Use a standard format or sales automation tool for maintaining the status of sales activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in company‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Keep up to date on current technology relevant to the role.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Special Considerations / Physical Work Requirements
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machinery operation, driving, etc.) most of the workday.
  • Properly licensed with the ability to drive a motor vehicle extensively within the defined sales area/territory.
