Facility Operations Assistant, Part-Time - Sports and Recreation – Kennesaw Campus

Kennesaw State University is looking for a dedicated Facility Operations Assistant to support the daily operations and supervision of the assigned facility at the Kennesaw campus.

Location: 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144

Employment type: Part‑time

Seniority level: Entry level

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Job Summary: The Facility Operations Assistant provides direct support in the daily operation and supervision of the assigned facility. The role oversees on‑duty student personnel, security, risk management, equipment set‑up and breakdown, and customer service operations. The assistant serves as the primary liaison with all facility user groups and assists in decision‑making in the absence of full‑time staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with shift duties, including overseeing, delegating, and documenting the attendants working within assigned areas.
  • Maintain daily facility operations, security, and risk management (provide emergency care, perform building inspections, report door issues).
  • Support the operation and mission of the department/division by completing additional tasks assigned by the Manager or Coordinator.
  • Produce reports and forms such as Shift Reports, Facility Work Orders, and Accident Reports.
  • Assist with orientation and oversight of assigned students.
  • Assist in other program areas as assigned.
  • Act as point of contact for facility and group reservations.
  • Perform activity space event set‑up and breakdown.
  • Provide excellent customer service concerning departmental facilities, programs, and services.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding departmental facilities, programs, and services in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required Experience: Six (6) months of relevant work experience or at least one (1) year of student employment experience focused on facility management.
  • Preferred Educational

    Qualification:

    An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the KSU recreation facilities, programs, and services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of event procedures related to ADA compliance and fire safety.
  • Knowledge of facility emergency action plans.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale procedures, producing reports, and verifying deposits.
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time‑management, project‑management, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
Other Information
  • Position is supervisory.
  • No financial responsibilities.
  • Position does not require driving.
  • Position is considered a position of trust.
  • Position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).
  • Travel may be required 1% – 24% of the time.
Background Check
