Entry-level Field Technician (Building Envelope)
NOVA Engineering is seeking an Entry-level Building Enclosure Field Technician for our Kennesaw, GA headquarters. Ideal candidates will have experience with commercial building construction, glazing / commercial window installation, or commercial roofing.
Responsibilities- Performance testing of roofing, waterproofing, window and curtain wall systems and other building components on new construction and existing facilities, following ASTM, AAMA, TAS and ANSI standards.
- Conduct forensic evaluations and investigations on building enclosure and roof components with performance issues or suspected failure.
- Perform quality‑assurance site inspections to verify conformance with construction documents, manufacturers, and industry standards.
- Review construction documents, including architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals related to the building enclosure.
- Write technical reports documenting testing and observations performed.
- Travel within the state overnight as required; occasional out‑of‑state overnight travel. The position is predominantly field‑based.
- Background in commercial building construction, commercial roofing, or commercial glazing / window installation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for report writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with building enclosure systems such as wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, and waterproofing.
- Certified in the operation of boom lifts or willingness to become certified.
- Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification is preferred.
