Job Summary

Full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine‑month contracted positions performed in the state of Georgia. Standard teaching load is 12‑15 credit hours (four or five courses) per semester. The position requires teaching courses in the psychology major and related areas, engaging in service to the department, college, or university, and demonstrating a strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.

Responsibilities
  • Commit to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department, and/or discipline.
  • Teach courses required for the psychology major, such as introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
  • Teach courses within one of the areas in the KSU psychology major, including the Diversity Area, Personality and Social Area, Biological Bases Area, Health Area, or Learning and Cognition Area.
  • Handle a teaching load of 12‑15 credit hours (four or five courses) per semester.
  • Teach courses of variable sizes and modalities, including large class sizes.
  • Engage in service to the department, college, and/or university.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.
  • Attend departmental faculty meetings and complete all mandatory university trainings.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline at the time of hire.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of promoting student success.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses in introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
  • Experience teaching courses in one of the areas within the KSU psychology major.
  • Experience teaching courses in variable modalities and class sizes, including large class sizes.
  • Demonstrated excellence in course design and delivery.
  • Evidence of effective mentorship of university‑level students.
