Department InformationThe Department of English supports the study of human expression and helps students develop skills for professional and civic life. The department offers English (BA), English Education (BS), and Professional Writing (MA), with core programs in First-Year Composition and General Education Literature. The college emphasizes high-impact practices such as mentored research, community-engaged learning, and internships. The Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences houses the department and supports over 80 programs of study.

Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of English for the academic year. Positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with credentials. Positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Student teaching/clinical supervision of English Education candidates during placements at partnering schools
- Teaching in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats
- Maintain regular communication with Supervising Master Teacher KSU liaison
- Attend required KSU field experience seminars and other meetings related to field experience supervisor role
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Qualifications- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in English Education or a related field is required at time of hire.
- OR a minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at time of hire.
- AND at least 5 years teaching experience
- Employed as a full-time English teacher at a partnering school
- Academic coursework in English Education
- Experience mentoring teacher candidates
- Experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats
