Department InformationThe History and Philosophy Department prepares students for adaptable, fulfilling careers by teaching a core set of transferable knowledge and skills through research, analyzing and assessing evidence, and articulating sound conclusions both orally and in writing. Students learn about the larger world by studying societies, cultures, and economies across a broad chronological and geographical spectrum, which makes them better global citizens, problem solvers, and communicators.

Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Public History in the Department of History & Philosophy with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in public history. Faculty are expected to teach courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes when necessary.
- Service to include coordination of the undergraduate public history minor, coordination of undergraduate internships for the Department of History & Philosophy, curatorial support and coordination of student projects funded by the Department of Museums, Archives and Rare Books, work with campus…
