Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in Environmental Science in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology for the academic year . These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate courses in Environmental Science such as Science, Society, & the Environment I (SCI 1101) and II (SCI 1102), and other courses as needed.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required QualificationsA minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science, Biology, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications- A record of using evidence-based teaching practices at the university level
- A record of teaching non-STEM majors
- A record of teaching environmental-science-related courses
- A flexible schedule that can support teaching evenings
