Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Environmental Science in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, & Organismal Biology in The College of Science and Mathematics with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Environmental Science such as Introduction to Environmental Science (ENVS 2202K), Environmental Ethics (ENVS 4300), and the Environmental Science Senior Seminar (ENVS 4399). Other teaching responsibilities may include Environmental Science courses for non‑majors, including Science Society and the Environment I and II (SCI 1101 and 1102) and other courses as needed by the department.
- Service on Departmental and College level committees is expected. Participation in the assessment process for the B.S. in Environmental Science degree is also expected as well as providing input into the curriculum for the degree program.
- There are no research expectations for this position and there is no departmental support for research for this position.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required QualificationsTo teach undergraduate courses:
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
