Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Political Science.
  • Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.
  • Service to department, college, University, and profession.
Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

To Teach Graduate Courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates with a Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching in-person, on-line or hybrid courses
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in a wide variety of fields in political science
  • Record of past teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level
  • Ability to teach introductory courses in Political Science, American political institutions, or international law.
  • Experience in teaching American government, comparative politics, or international relations.
  • Ability to mentor undergraduate research
