Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Political Science.
- Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes.
- A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.
- Service to department, college, University, and profession.
To teach undergraduate courses:
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
To Teach Graduate Courses:
- A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Candidates with a Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related field.
- Experience in teaching in-person, on-line or hybrid courses
- Evidence of teaching excellence in a wide variety of fields in political science
- Record of past teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Ability to teach introductory courses in Political Science, American political institutions, or international law.
- Experience in teaching American government, comparative politics, or international relations.
- Ability to mentor undergraduate research
