Job SummaryFull‑time, non‑tenure track Lecturer of Spanish, with a preferred start date of August 2026. Nine‑month contract. Teach primarily lower‑division Spanish; may also cover upper‑division courses and related subjects. Teaching load 4/5 per year. Work will be conducted in Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach lower‑division language Spanish courses and occasional upper‑division courses (as department needs).
- Establish an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Prioritize student success and inclusive pedagogy.
- Participate in service commitments such as co‑curricular activities, recruitment, and limited committee work.
- Maintain the teaching load of 4/5 per year.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Spanish or related studies, or a non‑related Master’s with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish.
- Strong background in proficiency‑oriented instruction.
- Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Documented record of teaching Spanish in face‑to‑face and/or hybrid or online environments.
- Documented experience in professional service.
- Experience developing and/or teaching courses in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid modalities.
- Experience in language assessment design and administration.
- Knowledge of current trends in language pedagogy, cultural studies, linguistics, and educational technology.
- Team‑working capability within the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
- Experience organizing co‑curricular activities, program recruitment, or advising student groups.
