Museum Educator, Digital Specialist, Museum of History and Holocaust Education, Kennesaw, GA

(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Department Information DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engaging digital learning resources including virtual programs, online exhibitions and oral history-based materials, and curriculum‑aligned multimedia content that improves and expand access to the museum’s educational offerings.
  • Maintain the museum’s digital education platforms and analytics, ensuring high‑quality user experience, accessibility and effective integration of technology into public programming.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Airtable, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Suite, Articulate, Omeka, ArcGIS
Job Summary

Responsible for archival or museum exhibits, programs, outreach, and processes. Supports archival or museum programs and initiatives. Assists in implementing and administering the museum's on‑site and off‑site education and outreach programs.

This position is considered limited‑term staff since it utilizes contingent funding which is currently secured through June 30 2028. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on continued availability of funding.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engages in public outreach to K‑12 public and private schools, homeschool organizations, campus community, and community. May involve travel to and from outreach locations with the responsibility of delivery, set‑up and breakdown of travel exhibits.
  • Responsible for researching and writing curriculum related to outreach and developing evaluation techniques to assess program effectiveness.
  • Provides input to staff in development and execution of promotional plans related to outreach.
  • Assists with special projects and patrons with research and reference information.
  • Conducts evaluations of outreach programs.
  • Provides research support for exhibits and outreach programs.
  • Assists in managing field trips, in‑school programs, homeschool days for K‑12 audiences, and dialogue‑based programs offered to university and adult audiences.
  • Provides administrative support to members of The Museum of History and Holocaust Education ( MHHE ).
  • Assists with collection management and may assist the communications team as needed.
  • Assists with instruction sessions, outreach events and programs which may be virtual or in‑person.
  • Required Qualifications Educational Requirements

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field.

    Required Qualifications

    Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license.

    Required Experience

    One (1) year of experience in a related field.

    Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications

    Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field preferred.

    Preferred Experience

    Previous experience in museums, archives or similar historical preservation field preferred.

    Proposed Salary

    The salary range for this position starts at $44,000 annually. Offers are based on relevant experience.
