The Senior Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading the design and development of complex aerospace systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory compliance. The position emphasizes leadership in managing project teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving innovation through advanced problem‑solving and technical expertise.
Responsibilities- Lead small project teams in the design and development of aerospace systems.
- Perform complex engineering calculations and simulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements; participate in design reviews and provide critical feedback.
- Lead the design and development of complex aerospace systems and components.
- Conduct in-depth engineering analysis and optimization.
- Prepare 3‑D models, 2‑D drawings and other related technical documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure project alignment.
- Oversee testing, validation, and certification processes.
- Advanced knowledge of aerospace engineering principles.
- Experience and proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Solid Works).
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and innovative thinking.
- High proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing processes.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5‑9 years of relevant engineering experience.
- A current US Security Clearance to the level of SECRET.
- Experience and proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Solid Works preferred).
- Experience in Aerospace design and manufacturing processes.
