LocationOur Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department InformationThe Engineering Technology (ET) department offers programs with a hands-on, applied approach to engineering. Focusing on practical aspects of engineering, ET blends the application of science, engineering knowledge, and technical skills to solve problems in a variety of fields. ET specializes in design and application with focus areas including engineering design graphics, manufacturing, applied mechanical engineering, communication systems, embedded processing and digital systems, and power systems.
The ET broad educational foundation of applied engineering, project-based learning empowers students to apply state-of-the-art technology to real-world problems.
Graduates enter a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, medical devices, heavy equipment, automation, HVAC, automotive design, energy, materials engineering, communications, instrumentation, control systems, digital design, embedded systems design, power, robotics, computers, and more. ET graduates often pursue careers in development, design, QA, technical documentation, production, maintenance, test engineering, field service, technical sales, R&D, management, telecommunications, product improvement, industrial processes, and operations.
Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Engineering Technology for the academic year . Positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at hire and will be commensurate with credentials. Positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate courses in the electrical engineering technology program
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in electrical or computer engineering technology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- An earned doctoral degree, or its foreign equivalent, in engineering or closely related field.
- Professional Engineering license.
- Significant relevant work experience.
- College level teaching, and online teaching.
