Department InformationWith almost 2600 students, the Mechanical Engineering department at SPCEET is the largest in the college and ranks among the largest in the nation. It offers undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, an MS in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Service to Department/College/University/professional community is expected.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline at the time of hire.
- Expertise to teach courses in Aerospace Engineering such as Spacecraft Design, Spacecraft Dynamics and Controls, Spacecraft propulsion, Orbital Mechanics and their laboratories.
- Teaching familiarity with face-to-face, online or hybrid modalities.
- Record of past teaching Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering courses at the undergraduate level.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Aerospace Engineering industry.
