WSP is seeking a Sr. Lead Facility Assessor with 10+ years of experience in designing, constructing, managing, and assessing facility systems and components. Candidates should possess extensive knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, interior construction and design, or roofing systems. The role involves leading Facility Condition Assessment projects for large portfolio clients across the United States.

Impact
  • Perform assessments of client facilities using professional expertise and judgment to determine physical condition, remaining service life, and compliance with specifications and building codes.
  • Provide consulting recommendations and serve as subject matter expert for a given discipline, mentoring and advising team members and leadership; resolve conflicting methodologies and communicate best practices within the discipline.
  • Understand and implement project work plans, quality management plans, and lead others to execute based on client requirements.
  • Use tablet‑based computer systems to identify and document building systems and components, providing justification for physical condition determinations.
  • Asses multiple buildings within large complexes daily, identifying major components and supporting systems in a physically demanding environment; experience with government building portfolios is a plus.
  • Lead both small and large teams of assessors and report status daily, ensuring quality requirements are met and establishing standard practices for complex scenarios.
  • Teach techniques, skills, and mentoring practices that help team members succeed and grow.
Required Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of facility condition assessment experience.
  • Successful completion of a security background check and U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience using mobile computer device technology for field data collection.
  • Knowledge of facility condition assessment software such as BUILDER SMS.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent technical writing skills; experience drafting proposals, cost estimates, project schedules, and work breakdown structures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Must be able to travel 75% or more of the time and work flexible hours; travel may extend to 2‑3 weeks or longer.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to established dress codes.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Pass pre‑employment screening, including criminal background, employment verification, education verification, drug screening, and motor vehicle records.
  • Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE, EIT, or RA credentials (preferred but not required).
  • Prior military service in civil engineering, construction, or facilities management.
  • Experience creating cost estimates for project proposals and client recommendations.
