Tax Manager

Job Description

HLB Gross Collins, P.C. is seeking a Tax Manager with a minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting. The role involves working with the tax practice team to develop and strengthen client relationships and to advise on individual, partnership, corporate, and trust & estate tax services while staying current on tax law changes.

• Develop and maintain client relationships across individual, partnership, corporate, and trust & estate tax services.
• Provide tax compliance and strategy advice, ensuring adherence to current tax regulations.
• Review client work to enforce firm quality‑control procedures.
• Communicate progress and issues to partners and propose timely solutions.
• Engage in networking activities and maintain business contacts.
• Discuss technical issues with clients and respond to their needs.
• Manage client billing responsibilities and understand firm economics.
• Support policy and procedure decisions; assist with additional tasks as requested.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong research skills, highly organized, and proficient in multi‑tasking.
• Highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements.
• Visibility and recognition in industry specialization.

• Proficient in business taxation: C- and S‑corporations, partnerships.
• Experienced in individual taxation and tax planning.
• Experience with tax planning strategies for businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Knowledge of multi‑state and consolidated tax returns.
• Preferred: experience supervising and training staff and seniors.
• Active CPA license.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master of Tax preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a public accounting firm or related field.
