Overview
Position is for a Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, with competence in multiple trades to ensure a well-maintained hotel environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete all required training and adhere to standard operating procedures and property brand standards
- Perform duties to assist hotel operations and enhance guest experiences
- Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, switches, outlets, fixtures, faucets, toilets, hardware, and related items
- Maintain records of repairs performed and coordinate calendared and pending repairs
- Inspect guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to identify repair or replacement needs
- Assist other departments in applying the preventive maintenance program
- Have basic mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Ensure safety and security of guests, associates, and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management
- Protect confidential business information and guest data
Necessary Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication; able to report to scheduled shifts
- Flexible schedule; availability for nights, weekends, and holidays due to 24/7 operations
- Maintain a clean and professional work area, uniform, and personal presentation
- Organized, honest, and collaborative; provide friendly service to guests and associates
- Commitment to integrity and respectful, service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Dedication to values such as innovation, excellence, and community focus
- Physical ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in tight spaces
- Visual capability for near and far vision; ability to use ladders or step stools
- Ability to communicate clearly, hear adequately, and understand English
