Team:
Manages payroll with support from a part-time Payroll Assistant

About the Role

We are a fast‑growing construction company operating across 9 states with 468 active projects, and we’re looking for a seasoned Payroll Manager to own and elevate our payroll function. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in complex, high‑volume environments and brings calm, structure, and accuracy to payroll operations.

We do not need construction payroll experience—strong payroll leadership from any industry is welcome.

What You’ll Do
  • Own end‑to‑end payroll for approximately 150 employees in multiple states
  • ~100 hourly employees paid weekly
  • Process payroll using Sage 300 and Miter Payroll – collect, calculate and enter data
  • Manage and improve manual onboarding and offboarding workflows in Sage 300
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Supervise and collaborate with a part‑time Payroll Assistant
  • Prepare and process payroll‑related reports, audits, and reconciliations confidentially
  • Support payroll system planning and transition to Sage Intacct (targeted for July 2026 or January 2027)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual work
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of multi‑state payroll experience in a mid‑sized or complex organization
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 or Sage Intacct (required)
  • Experience managing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
  • Comfort working in environments with manual processes and evolving systems
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and sound judgment
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and guide support staff
Why Join Us
  • Stable, growing company with a strong project pipeline
  • Leadership that values expertise and pays for quality
  • Real influence on systems and future‑state payroll operations
  • Full benefits package including 401(k)
  • Long‑term growth opportunities, including transitions within our family of companies
