Strategic Link Consulting is seeking a senior leader to oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of all core IT infrastructure and operational services. This role ensures technology platforms—network, cloud, server, storage, client hardware, and database systems—are reliable, secure, and scalable to support business objectives.
Position SummaryThe Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for strategy, planning, and execution of all core IT infrastructure and operational services s role is critical in ensuring the organization’s technology platforms are reliable, secure, and scalable. The Director will lead and mentor the Infrastructure and Operations teams (Engineering and Database Administration), driving a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year IT Infrastructure and Operations strategy and technology roadmap.
- Define, implement, and oversee SMART metrics and KPIs for availability, performance, security, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Guide balanced investment decisions and manage operational and capital planning processes.
- Ensure proactive capacity planning for all key systems.
- Benchmark existing IT systems against industry best practices and recommend modernization.
- Operational Excellence & Service Delivery
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Infrastructure and Operations staff.
- Direct operational activities for mission‑critical systems, including the enterprise‑wide application that supports loan processing and client servicing.
- Oversee provisioning and maintenance of LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, network security, database systems, and disaster recovery.
- Implement advanced proactive monitoring tools and incident management processes.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with key technology vendors.
- Innovation, Security, and Compliance
- Re‑engineer infrastructure processes and support models to align with evolving business requirements.
- Partner with Information Security to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Assess emerging technology and business trends to deliver cost‑effective, innovative solutions.
- Oversee IT Asset and CMDB processes to maintain accurate inventory data.
- Exceptional Leadership:
Inspire and manage high‑performing technical teams. - Strategic & Critical Thinking:
Use logic to develop strategies that drive long‑term business value. - Advanced Analytical & Problem‑Solving
Skills:
Diagnose complex system issues and develop long‑term solutions. - Project & Organizational Management:

Translate technical information for senior management and non‑technical audiences.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline. - Infrastructure Leadership: 5+ years of progressive experience leading and managing network, cloud, systems, and/or database engineering teams within an enterprise or service provider environment.
- Technical Depth: 5+ years of hands‑on or supervisory experience with complex enterprise network, virtualization, and public cloud environments.
- Architecture
Experience:
3+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Architecture design and planning. - Knowledge:
Practical knowledge of IT Service Management principles, IT Asset Management, CMDB processes, and ITIL or similar frameworks.
