Experienced Catastrophe Claims Representative

Overview

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking an experienced catastrophe claims representative. There are multiple positions open across the 26 states we operate. Locations vary by posting.

• Frequent travel up to 21 days at a time and may be required on short notice to catastrophe locations, often out of state.
• Meet the physical demands including carrying and climbing a ladder.
• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate loss, analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses.
• Familiar with insurance coverage by studying policies, endorsements and forms.
• Work toward resolution of claims, possibly attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions or trials as necessary.
• Ensure claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience
• Field claims experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail
• Proficient with Xactimate software
• Above-average communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to resolve complex issues
• Organize and interpret data
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Military experience is considered
