Job Summary: Postdoctoral Researchers support teams of faculty and students in research projects, collaborating with external partners to stimulate innovation and capacity‑building position is grant‑funded; continued employment depends on grant availability.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute experimental activities, including transformation of
E. coli, transfection of Trypanosoma brucei, electron microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, proteomic analysis, protein purification, molecular pharmacology, and drug efficacy testing in mouse models of human African trypanosomiasis. - Supervise students in performing laboratory tasks.
- Order laboratory supplies, including mice for vivarium work.
- Maintain laboratory safety, schedule radioactivity wipe tests, and arrange equipment upgrades as needed.
- Prepare experimental reports, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and peer‑reviewed journals.
- Contribute to research proposal development and identify new research directions.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop an Individual Development Plan.
- Secure grant funding and participate in grant‑writing workshops.
- Prepare and manage project budgets in line with institutional guidelines.
- Maintain official records, ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
- Establish cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Teach qualified courses, including lectures and laboratory components, as assigned.
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., D.V.M., Sc.D., M.D., Pharm.
D.) from an accredited institution, or ability to obtain a doctorate within six months of hire. - Eligible to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and collaborative research, meet deliverables and milestones.
- Strong proposal and paper writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, problem‑solving, organization, time‑management, project‑management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.
- Attention to detail, strong follow‑up and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

- Non‑supervisory position.
- Position has financial responsibilities.
- No driving required.
- Travel required 1–24% of the time.
- No security clearance required.
