Dental Assistant – Kennewick, WA
Join our team as a Dental Assistant at Miramar Health Center in Kennewick, WA, and be part of a healthcare organization that believes in making a difference beyond medical care! We are a leading community health center with 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon, offering dental, medical, pharmacy, orthodontic, nutritional counseling, autism screening, behavioral health, and more. We also provide support for shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.
PositionHighlights
$22.29–$27.31/hour DOE with potential for higher pay for highly experienced candidates
$5,000.00 Hiring Bonus Structure:
At Hire: $1,500.00
At 180 days (6 months): $2,000.00
At 12 months: $1,500.00
Bonus will be pro-rated based on Full Time Equivalency (FTE)
Additional 4% differential for bilingual skills

Update patient medical records, conduct X‑ray procedures (panoramic and intraoral photographs)
Record periodontal charting and prepare instruments and equipment for provider exams
Mix exam materials with infection control awareness, perform preventive care such as fluoride treatments
Monitor nitrous oxide analgesia under provider supervision (Only in Washington)
Educate patients on oral hygiene in clinic and school‑based programs
Assist in infection control program, sterilize instruments/equipment
May assist in orthodontics: obtain patient records, bite registrations, models, fabricate retainers, place/remove ligature ties
May perform Lead duties: maintain daily department flow, act as liaison between line staff and supervisor, manage breaks, lunches, sick calls, overtime, provide training and performance insights
High School Diploma or GED
BLS certification within 90 days
Surgical Technologist Registration (if assisting a dentist in the operating room)
Dental Assistant Registration or EFDA certification
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at level 10
Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology, dental anatomy, materials, instruments, infection control, and oral health instruction
Ability to perform four‑handed dental assisting (instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, spatulation)
Strong manual dexterity and coordination, professional interaction with patients of all ages and colleagues
Basic proficiency in Electronic Dental Record, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
