Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Clinical Educator to develop, plan, and implement a variety of education activities for individuals, departments, and the hospital. This role supports clinical department leadership and serves as a consultant, facilitator, change agent, and leader.
Base Pay Range$34.00/hr – $49.00/hr
Position SummaryThe Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing education programs and providing training related to the needs of the organization, including state, federal, and accreditation mandatory programs. The position collaborates closely with Patient Safety, Quality, and department leadership and contributes to the quality program and education of staff.
Responsibilities- Follows established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complies with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations.
- Develops orientation for new and transferred employees and delivers ongoing education.
- Manages education programs and conducts training for mandatory state, federal, and accreditation programs.
- Collaborates with Patient Safety Officer to address system changes and promote quality and patient safety.
- Works with Quality Director to develop and maintain the quality program and staff education.
- Assists with data collection to evaluate outcomes and submits timely data for regulatory agencies.
- Participates in department quality initiatives and outcome data analysis.
- Interprets outcome data and communicates findings to staff and medical staff.
- Facilitates actions for performance data issues and negative trends.
- Supports teambuilding and leadership development initiatives.
- Responds to changes in nursing practice and develops support programs.
- Leads committees, work groups, and projects related to educational activities.
- Teaches content and facilitates orientation, staff development, and safe practice.
- Complies with continuing education accrediting body requirements.
- Instructs specialty courses as assigned.
- Develops and evaluates education programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Provides consultation to department managers on education processes and accrediting agency requirements.
- Maintains clinical knowledge and participates in orientation, ongoing education, quality audits, and initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge of learning management systems and data management systems.
- Current state RN license and bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- BLS certification.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Instructor within 3 years of accepting the position.
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent clinical experience with mastery of relevant clinical skills.
- Previous experience in adult education.
